As a community, not-for-profit hospital, The Medical Center faces many challenges. Rapidly developing medical technology, reductions in government funding for health services, and increasing amounts of indigent care add up to great expense. The hospital receives less than 2% of its budget through tax dollars. In order to remain on the leading edge, to renovate and expand existing services and provide care to all members of the community, The Medical Center needs continuing support.
Funds received by the Medcen Foundation are not used for the hospital's operating expenses but go toward the purchase of new equipment, medical research and education.
