Hospice of Central Georgia is a charitable not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing sensitive, quality care to persons with life-limiting illnesses and their families. Hospice affirms life, but recognizes dying as part of the natural process of living.
Hospice offers an accomplished, professional staff that specializes in treating the patient, not the disease, and is especially adept at pain and symptom management to ensure patients the utmost dignity in their final days. Hospice of Central Georgia also is one of our community’s most highly regarded resources for bereavement counseling.
Hospice of Central Georgia serves Bibb County and 9 surrounding counties including Jones, Twiggs, Taylor, Lamar, Houston, Bleckley, Monroe, and Peach.Charitable support is vital to guarantee hospice care is available to all those in need. You can help by making a donation in memory or in honor of someone special or by simply giving a gift in support of our services. Generation to Generation
As part of the continuum of services at The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Medcen Community Health Foundation has launched a campaign to give families a place that offers special comfort.
Our vision is a free-standing in-patient hospice, a Hospice House, which will provide round-the-clock support for patients of all ages and for their families.
When you step inside our House some of the features you will find include family meditation rooms, a non-denominational chapel, serenity gardens, and warm and cheerful private patient rooms that open on to screened porches (see rendering below). Part of Hospice of Central Georgia’s philosophy is that care is family focused, involving everyone in the hospice experience to help the patient avoid feelings of loneliness and despair.
Our Hospice House, to be funded 100% philanthropically, will welcome all Central Georgians regardless of their ability to pay.
The need is urgent. The first of 77 million Baby Boomers turns 60 this year. As this population continues to age, the need for an in-patient hospice will grow exponentially. Help us provide for our loved ones now and in generations to come by supporting Medcen Community Health Foundation’s Hospice House capital campaign.
